FC Talanta pulled the upset of the weekend, beating Ushuru 2-1 as round 31 of the FKF National Super League kicked off on Sunday, May 5, 2019.

Both sides had come off losses to Bidco United and Nairobi Stima in midweek and were looking to make amends.

Chris Owino, against all odds, put Talanta in the driving seat with a 36th-minute effort, one they held onto until halftime.

After the breather, Talanta found the second in the 58th minute through Job Tinyo after a swift interchange of passes.

Brian Yakhama reduced the deficit in the 69th minute from the spot, but a spirited effort from Talanta saw them hold on for all three points.

At the Thika Stadium, League Leaders Kisumu All-Stars played out a 0-0 draw with Bidco United while at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega, Green Commandos brushed aside visiting Migori Youth 5-0.

Four more matches will be played on Monday, among them a blockbuster pitting Wazito against Kenya Police.
