Kangemi All-Stars blew the FKF National Super League relegation battle wide open following a 2-1 win away to St Joseph Youth on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at the Afraha Stadium.
A goal apiece by Issaku Mohamed and Brian Kipruto saw Kangemi master their second win in a row, one that takes them off bottom place.
With 28 points, Kangemi is only a point behind 18th placed Thika United and 17th placed Nairobi City Stars, and stand a realistic chance of survival.
Wazito, meanwhile, opened up a seven-point gap at the top, pending Monday’s matches, following a hard-earned win over Administration Police at Camp Toyoyo.
Derrick Onyango had got Wazito into the front foot just as the second half got underway, but Hillary Otieno slowed them down with an equalizer, moments later.
The Law Enforcers held resolutely thereafter but finally crumbled with a minute left on the clock when Dennis Gicheru rose highest to head home the winner off a corner kick by Wilson Anekeya.

Wazito now stands at 75 points in 35 matches, seven clear of second-placed Kisumu All-Stars, who will be up against Kenya Police on Monday at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Third-placed Nairobi Stima and fourth-placed Ushuru will also be in action on Monday as the race for promotion hots up.
