The Kenya National Beach Soccer team, the Harambee Sand Stars, will on Thursday early morning jet out to Cape Verde where the team has been drafted into the Africa Beach games.

Under the tutelage of coach Rajab Babu and assistant coach Kinero Swaleh, the team has been in camp since Saturday, June 8, 2019, at the Reef hotel in Mombasa.

Kenya will come up against Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt, Tunisia, Morroco and hosts Cape Verde in the 10-nation tournament, which will act as a qualifier to the World Beach Games scheduled to be held in San Francisco, USA, later this year.

The Sand Stars’ last assignment was in September 2016 when the team dropped out of the race for a place in the Africa Beach Soccer Cup of Nations at the hands of Ghana.
