It is all systems go for the Kenya National team, Harambee Stars’ opening match of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations against Algeria.

The match, set to be played on Sunday, June 23, 2019, at the Air Defense Stadium (30 June Stadium) starting 11 pm EAT, sees Kenya return on the continental scene for the first time in 15 years.

Stars have been in residential training since June 1, 2019, and now have all to play for as the continent’s premier national competition kicks off.

“I don’t think we are under pressure. We were under more pressure during qualification. Here we are out to enjoy the game and most importantly show that we are not pushovers,” said Captain Wanyama ahead of Sunday’s showdown.

“Algeria is a good team. We respect them but on the pitch, we are going to fight. We will try to make it difficult for them,” added Wanyama.

The team had a feel of the field of play on Saturday night ahead of today’s 11 pm kickoff.
