Harambee Starlets coach David Ouma has pumped up his charges to be more resolute in defense ahead of their upcoming Olympics assignments.
This as he commended the team’s attacking tempo that saw them score three in their friendly match against Ethiopia on Saturday, August 17, 2019, in Machakos.
Ethiopia twice came from behind to equalize in the match, only for Starlets to win it, in the end, courtesy of a stoppage-time Gentrix Shikangwa penalty.
“In football, you have to keep your concentration high for the entire ninety minutes. It is disappointing that we kept conceding every time we scored but it is an area we will work on in training,” said coach David Ouma
“We will keep working on our mental strength and I am confident that it will pay off against Malawi,” he added.
The match saw three players, Lydia Akoth, Topista Situma, and Nelly Sawe make their senior international debuts.
