Thika Queens came from two goals down to salvage a point against Gaspo Women in one of four FKF Women Premier League matches played on Sunday, September 21, 2019. The match ended 2-2.

Gaspo came with attacking intent in the first half with Winnie Kanotu bagging two goals in the 19th and 43rd minutes for a 2-0 halftime lead.

Thika Queens came back into the second half a rejuvenated side with a Fauzia Omar brace in the 49th minute and 57th minute getting the match level.

The two sides then played an end to end match thereafter, chances going either way, and a draw wasn’t a bad result to take home at the end of the day.

Vihiga Queens, meanwhile, leaped to the top of the table following their 4-0 win over Eldoret Falcons at the University of Eldoret grounds.

Mercyline Oginga opened the scored in the 10th minute for a 1-0 score as the teams headed back to the dressing rooms. In the second half, Vihiga Queens forwards had Topista Situma to thank as her brace in the 66th and 89th minutes all but put the match beyond the hosts’ reach. Teresa Engesha was also on the scoresheet in the 75th minute to complete the rout.

Mathare United, meanwhile, played out a 1-1 draw with Zetech Sparks while Kisumu All Starlets produced the highlight of the weekend, winning 7-3 over Oserian Ladies at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
