Confederation of African Football’s Executive Committee has moved to reschedule the 2021 African Cup of Nations to January 2022 owing to the global Covid-19 pandemic.

In a meeting held on Tuesday, 30 June 2020, via video conference, to discuss the future of competitions and other related issues, CAF also moved to cancel the Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers, in which the Harambee Starlets were slated to face Tanzania in April, 2020.

The committee also postponed the final tournament of the African Nations Championships (CHAN) to be held in Cameroon till January 2021 with Morocco hosting the final four of the CAF Confederation Cup.

It was suggested that a meeting with the Organizing Competitions for Youth Football and the Zonal Unions to be held in order to finalize the arrangement for the zonal qualifiers with the U17 AFCON to be played in July 2021.The CAF Executive member committee also cancelled the 2020 edition of the CAF awards.

FKF had earlier in April declared Gor Mahia KPL champions in accordance with Rule of the FKF rules and regulations. Nairobi City Stars and Bidco United were also promoted to the top tier.
