Harambee Stars’ chances of making it to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations were dented by a 2-1 to Comoros, on Sunday, November 15, 2020, in the return qualifier played at the Stade Omnisport de Maloudzini.
Ben Nabouhane slotted in from close range after a swift interchange of passes by the Les Coelacantes.
This only upped the level of play for Stars with attacking mid-fielder Cliff Nyakeya pulling the visitors level in the 36th minute.
Upon resumption, the home-side forward Faiz Mattoir drilled Comoros’ winner into the far right corner in the 49th minute.
Stars fell victim to missed chances, with Comoros holding on for a 2-1 full-time score.
Up next for the Stars is the final round of qualifiers, where they are slated to face Egypt at home, and Togo, away.
