Ulinzi Starlets has advanced to the quarterfinals of the FKF Women Cup after it outplayed FKF Women Division One side Sunderland Samba 5-0 on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at the Stima Members Club.
Neddy Okoth shot past Sunderland Samba’s defense netting the first goal of the match in the 13th minute for Ulinzi Starlets.
Sunderland Samba tried effortlessly to equalize the scores however they fell naught. In the 32nd minute, Neddy went for a brace as her counterpart Everlyne Juma pulled one past Sunderland Samba in the 42nd minute giving Ulinzi Starlets a 3-0 lead at halftime.
After the breather, Neddy bagged a hat-trick in the 56th minute with Lucy Mukhwana netting the final goal in the 65th minute sealing the scores at 5-0.
Later on, Kayole Starlet also booked a spot in the quarterfinals after pulling five goals past Mukuru Talent Academy’s one in the second match of the doubleheader at the Stima Grounds.
Lupemba Bilonda gave Mukuru Talent Academy an early lead with her goal in the 6th minute. After several attempts by Kayole Starlet to equalize the goal one bore fruit through Patricia Anyango’s goal in the 36th minute, closing off the scores in a 1-1 draw.
Upon resumption, Esther Ngugi went for a goal in the 70th minute paving way for Kayole Starlet. Christine Ngonzi followed with a brace in the 72nd and 79th minute
Faith Omondi sealed the scores at 5-1 in favor of Kayole Starlet, with her goal in the 85th minute.
