FKF Nyeri County has kicked off their women league on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Karatina Stadium.

The official launch was hosted by FKF NEC member Central region Davis Chege and graced by the FKF NEC Women Representative Margaret Omondi.

13 teams will partake in the league, namely, Humming Bird, Central Falcons, Falling Waters, Brighter Queens, Karatina Starlets, Mukoroini Starlets, Silver Wind, Raising Star, Express FC, Gatura FC, Sporty Starlets, Kieni Queens and Mweiga Queens.

FKF Central region NEC member Davis Chege lauded the Federation’s involvement in developing women’s football in the country.

“I would like to thank the Federation for their involvement in developing women’s football in the country, through proper structures that help the girls achieve their football dreams,” said Mr. Chege.

FKF Women Representative, Margaret Omondi, commended Nyeri county for setting up their league which will help nurture the girls as they get to pursue their future in football.

“Nyeri County has done a commendable job in setting up this league that will help nurture the girls as they begin to pursue their future football careers,” said Mrs. Omondi.

FKF Embu and Trans Nzoia counties also launched their women leagues in May
