FC Talanta widened the gap at the top after they edged out Fortune Sacco 1-0  in their Betika National Super League round 31 fixture played on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at  GEMS Cambridge.

Both teams started rather subtly in the first few minutes of the first half, as they read their opponents in an attempt to get an opportunity for the lead.

In the 31st minute, FC Talanta’s Edwin Mwaura was awarded a free-kick after a foul, but the ball missed the target, closing the first half scores in a goalless draw.

After the breather, Robert Mutua almost nicked the lead for Fortune Sacco but an alert FC Talanta’s Goalkeeper Kevin Otieno saved the ball mid-air stopping the attack in the 54th minute.

Ten minutes later, FC Talanta was awarded a penalty in which Antony Gicho converted to give his team the lead.

Fortune Sacco made several attempts to equalize the scores but the final whistle sealed the scores at 1-0.
