KCB was held to a barren draw by Gor Mahia in their FKF Premier League round 31 fixture played on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Thika Stadium.
In the 9th minute, Gor Mahia’s Captain Ernest Wendo found Tito Okello in the area, who attempted for a goal but the alert KCB goalkeeper Daniel Odiwuor saved the potential attack.
John Macharia got the first booking of the match in the 13th minute after his challenge on KCB’s defender Nahashon Alembi.
The Zedekiah Otieno-led team, almost nicked the lead in the 27th minute had it not been for Gor Mahia’s goalkeeper Samuel Njau saving David Ambulu’s curled shot from the edge of the area.
Ernest Wendo received a yellow card after fouling KCB’s David Ambulu in the 40th minute. This wrapped up the first-half scores at 0-0.
One minute after the intermission, Gor Mahia brought in John Ochieng for John Macharia.
In the 58th minute, Samuel Mwangi had a good run with the ball spotting David Ambulu in the area, but his delivery was stopped right in its tracks by Gor Mahia’s Frank Odhiambo.
Two minutes later, KCB made a double change, bringing in Reagan Otieno and David Simiyu for David Ambulu and Martin Mbugua.
Reagan Otieno passed the ball to Baraka Badi in the 70th minute, who fired the ball from mid-range but Gor Mahia’s Goalkeeper Samuel Njau saved the dangerous attack.
Despite three minutes of added time, both teams failed to pick up the three points, sealing the full-time scores at 0-0.
