Posta Rangers was held by Western Stima in a goalless draw in their FKF Premier League round 31 fixture played on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at Thika Stadium.
Cavin Odongo almost nicked the lead for the Stanley Okumbi led the team after he attempted to slot in the ball to the back of the net through his header in the 7th minute, but the ball missed the target by inches.
In the 15th minute, Western Stima’s James Ogada got the first booking of the match for his challenge on Posta Rangers Captain Bernard Ondiek.
Posta Rangers’ Michael Apudo was booked for his challenge on Western Stima’s Rodgers Ouma four minutes later.
Josphat Lopaga took the awarded freekick for Posta Rangers from the edge of the area in the 32nd minute but his attempt for goal failed to go past the Western Stima barrier.
In the 37th minute, Juma Yusuf tried to convert for Western Stima through the awarded freekick but Posta Rangers Goalkeeper Kelvin Opiyo saved the potential attack, sealing the half-time scores in a goalless draw.
After the breather, Posta Rangers made a double change bringing in Dennis Oala and Clinton Kisiavuki for Cavin Odongo and Eliud Lokwam in the 65th minute.
Two minutes later, Western Stima traded in for fresh legs bringing in Laban Otieno for Barron Oketch.
Francis Nambute showed immense skill in the area rounding past Western Stima’s goalkeeper Stephen Otieno and made an attempt for goal in the 87th minute but the ball hit the crossbar, sealing the full-time scores at 0-0.
