Tusker picked up three crucial points that brought them back to the top after beating Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 in their FKF Premier League round 32 fixture on Friday, August 13, 2021, at the Ruaraka Grounds.

Boniface Muchiri tried to open the scores in the 11th minute after he took the awarded corner kick that was tipped out leading to another corner kick which Eugene Asike headed off-target.

In the 20th minute, Tusker’s Jimmy Mbugua received the first booking of the match. Five minutes later, Tusker’s Vincent Engesa was also booked for foul play.

Kakamega Homeboyz Francis Omondi got booked in the 29th minute, after fouling Tusker’s Boniface Muchiri. In the 33rd minute, Tusker nicked the lead after Rodgers Aloro delivered a freekick right in the danger area, which Henry Meja made an attempt for goal with a backheel attempt that forced Kakamega Homeboyz Francis Omondi to make a goal-line clearance that led to an own goal from Brian Eshihanda.

In the 40th minute, Tusker doubled their scores after Michael Madoya headed the ball to the back of the net after receiving a cross from Rodgers Aloro. This sealed the first-half scores at 2-0.

After the breather, Tusker FC made a triple substitution in the 56th minute replacing Kevin Otieno, Henry Meja, and Mike Madoya with Humphrey Mieno, Jackson Macharia, and Chris Ochieng respectively.

Kakamega Homeboyz brought in fresh legs in the 70th minute bringing in Fasnami Ojo for Francis Omondi.

Despite several attempts by Kakamega Homeboyz to pull one back, they fell naught, leading to the scores closing at 2-0.
