Burundi’s PVP edged Djibouti’s FAD FC 2-1 in their CAF Women Champions League CECAFA qualifier match played on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the MISC Kasarani.

Igilima Nicole nicked the lead for PVP with her shot that landed right at the back of the net in the 22nd minute. Fifteen minutes later, Djibouti’s FAD FC equalized the scores through Lerman Sikieh goal from the edge of the area. This sealed the first-half scores at a stalemate of 1-1.

After the intermission, Nicole Igilima skilled past the Djibouti defense to get her brace in the 53rd minute, putting PVP back in the lead.

Despite FAD FC’s attempts to equalize the scores, the final whistle awarded three points to Burundi’s PVP.

PVP plays their last group stage match against Uganda’s Lady Doves on Friday, September 3, 2021, at Nyayo Stadium, meanwhile, on the same day, Djibouti’s FAD FC will face Tanzania’s Simba Queens at the Kasarani Stadium.

Later on, in the same field, Lady Doves was held by Simba Queens to a goalless draw.

Semifinals have been scheduled for Monday, September 6, while the third and fourth place playoff and final will be played on Thursday, September 9, 2021.
