Harambee Starlets rout South Sudan’s Bright Starlets 8-0 in their first leg of the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers played on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at the Nyayo Stadium.
Neddy Akoth bagged her hat trick after sending the ball to the back of the net in the 2nd, 4th, and 34th minute. Jentrix Shikangwa netted the fourth goal in the 39th minute to close the first half scores at 4-0.
After the breather, Neddy Akoth still hungry for goals scored the fifth and sixth goals in the 56th minute and 62nd minute respectively.
Mwanahalima Adam maneuvered past the Bright Starlets defense to hit the ball on target earning Kenya its seventh goal in the 65th minute. Jentrix Shikangwa got her brace as she beat the goalkeeper to bag the eighth goal in the 72nd minute, sealing the full-time scores at 8-0.
