Kenyan football will join the rest of the world in paying tribute to legend  Pele in all football matches for the next two weeks.  There will be a moment of silence in honor of the Brazillian icon at all  FKF Premier League, FKF Women Premier League, FKF National Super League, and FKF Men and Women Division One League matches during this period.

“Pele was a gift to football. His talent inspired millions across the world and gave fans across the world memories for a lifetime. And when he retired he continued to help grow the game and lift up those who came after him. He was one of the greatest and it is fitting to honor his life and influence in all our competitions,” said FKF CEO Barry Otieno.

The three-time World Cup winner Edison Arantes do Nascimento (Pelé) died on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at age 82.

“We are also going to pay tribute to former Harambee Stars  and Tusker defender Mark Odhiambo who we lost last week.”

Odhiambo, who also played for KCB, Tusker FC, and Wazito FC passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
