Fresh from a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Pakistan on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat will be eager to lead his charges to yet another positive result against hosts Mauritius.

The coach expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance against Pakistan, highlighting that the purpose of the camp was not only to secure victories but also to explore new players, different positions, and alternative team formations.

Coach Firat emphasized the team’s focus on learning more about their strengths, weaknesses, and potential solutions for the future.

“Our aim is to try out players who are eligible to play for us,” stated Coach Firat.

He acknowledged that while the team could have achieved a higher margin of victory against Pakistan, there were areas that needed improvement to ensure a smoother journey ahead.

The coach’s primary objective is to identify players who can contribute significantly in the future.

“We are here to see which players will help us in the long run, who will step up when given the opportunity,” Coach Firat emphasized, citing Kakamega Homeboyz Moses Shummah as an example of a player who showcased his potential in the previous match.
