The beach football teams commenced their residential training camp on June 12, 2023, in Mombasa, as they gear up for the upcoming African Beach Games in Hammamet, Tunisia.

The Harambee Sand Stars, Kenya’s men’s beach football team, made their debut in the tournament during the inaugural edition held in Sal, Cape Verde, in 2019. They put up a commendable performance, securing a fifth-place finish.

However, this time around, there is a new development as the women’s team will also have the opportunity to compete on the grand stage, marking a significant milestone for women’s beach football.

Both the Sand Stars and Starlets are determined to clinch victory in the African Beach Games. Winning this tournament will pave the way for them to compete on the global stage in the World Beach Games, scheduled to take place in Indonesia in August 2023.

The men’s team has been drawn to a group with defending champions Senegal, Tanzania, and Madagascar.

Women have been drawn with Cape Verde.

The African Beach Games will be held in Hammamet, Tunisia, from June 26 to July 1, 2023.
