Murang’a Seal emerged 2-1 winners over Shabana in a top-of-the-table FKF National Super League clash played on July 2, 2023, at the St. Sebastian Park in Murang’a.

Leading up to round 36, Murang’a Seal trailed league leaders Shabana with five points. Seal needed a victory to keep their title hopes alive.

The first half saw two goals from the home side. Adikiny Fabian opened the scoring in the second minute, giving the Seals an early advantage. Just before halftime, Yusuf Ally extended their lead, making it 2-0 going into the break. In the second half, Shabana managed to pull one back in the 67th minute through Onyango George.

With this result, only two points now separate the top two teams, and the ultimate champions will be decided on the final day of the league.

In other matches, Migori Youth once again increased the pressure on Mara Sugar in the battle for the playoff spot. They secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Darajani Gogo at Camp Toyoyo, with Oyugi Ernest scoring the sole goal in the 47th minute. Migori Youth now sit two points ahead of Mara Sugar in the standings.

Devan Omondi’s brace ensured a home victory for Kisumu All Stars against Kibera Black Stars. Meanwhile, Mwatate United secured an away victory against Vihiga United.

The FKF National Super League has been filled with excitement throughout the season, and the ultimate matchday on July 8, 2023, will be the deciding day for all teams in the top four. The race for the title and the battle for third place are both coming down to the wire
