Wazito FC has successfully retained their top-tier status in the 2022/23 FKF PL/NSL promotion/ relegation playoff with a 3-0 victory against Migori Youth at the Muhoroni Stadium on July 22, 2023.

During the 2022/23 FKF Premier League season, Wazito FC finished in the 16th position, leaving them in a position to fight for their place in the FKF-PL against Migori Youth, who had secured the third spot in the FKF National Super League.

Just before half-time, Stephen Mbulere capitalized on a floated free kick into the opponent’s box by Robert Onyango, allowing the hosts to open the scoring.

The start of the second half saw Robert once again become pivotal to the game, scoring from a direct free-kick and extending Wazito’s lead to 2-0. In the 54th minute, Collins Neto further solidified their position with a goal from a well-executed play.

With this victory, Wazito FC has earned their chance to again challenge for the upcoming 2023/24 FKF-PL season, they will face up against Nairobi City Stars in their first game of the season on August 27, 2023, while Migori Youth will participate in the FKF-NSL for the upcoming season.
