Harambee Stars lost 1-0 to South Sudan in their international friendly match played today, Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Kasarani Stadium.

The sole goal was scored by Tito Okello in the first five minutes of the game as he latched on to a back pass that was too short to reach keeper Bryne Odhiambo.

Stars were unable to mount a response after this early setback as the game ended in favor of the visitors.

The team has been able to play two international friendlies during this September international break – Qatar and South Sudan. These friendlies have served as crucial preparation for their upcoming competitive assignment, the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

They are placed in Group F alongside Seychelles, Burundi, Gambia, Gabon, and Côte d’Ivoire in the world cup qualifiers.

The first leg of the two-legged qualifiers is scheduled to be played between November 13th and 21st, 2023.
