Luanda Villa kicked off their 2023/24 FKF National Super League campaign by securing a 5-0 victory over Mombasa Elite on Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Mumboha Grounds.

Newly promoted sides Luanda Villa, Nairobi United, and Rainbow FC all secured victories.

In their match today, Luanda Villa wasted no time, as they found the net in the second minute when Delle Riziki unfortunately scored an own goal. Ndayala Timothy quickly extended Villa’s lead in the 12th minute, leading to a 2-0 score at halftime.

The second half saw Tiema Harrison, Maya Samuel, and Juma Emanuel contribute to the scoring, sealing the 5-0 win for Luanda Villa.

Meanwhile, Nairobi United also clinched a 2-0 victory in their debut match against Kibera Black Stars. Nairobi United made a late surge to secure the win, with Brian Lusamukha netting in the 81st minute and Isaac Omweri sealing the match in the 85th minute.

Rainbow FC, on Saturday, September 16, 2023, secured their first win of the season by defeating Darajani Gogo, with Tyron Kariuki scoring the sole goal.

In other matches, last season’s FKF PL promotion contenders, Migori Youth, played to a goalless draw against Mathare United at Migori Stadium, while Mara Sugar secured an away win against Coastal Heroes with Philemon Nyakuaka scoring in the 16th minute.

The second round of FKF NSL matches is scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, 2023.
