Bungoma Stars book a spot in the MozzartBet Cup round of 32 after registering a 2-1 victory against FKF Premier League side Bandari Football Club in a match played on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Sudi Stadium.
Bungoma Stars took a surprise lead through Tekkwo Derrick in the 23rd minute ensuring his side took an advantage at the break. The second half witnessed Bandari’s Nsibambi Derrick restore parity in the 55th minute mark. However, it was Makoha Meshack who sealed victory for Bungoma Stars in the 63rd minute, securing their qualification.
Elsewhere, Al Azizia turned out victorious against National Super League outfit Luanda Villa. Luanda Villa took the lead in the match when Ndayala Timothy found the back of the net taking a half time lead. The second half saw Al Azizia rally to get an equalizer through a Rama Said strike early on forcing a penalty shootout at the end of regulation time where Al Azizia won 4-3.
In other matches, Mombasa Stars won 5-0 against Eldoro SC while Talanta FC clinched a 3-1 victory via a penalty shoot out after being held to a 0-0 draw by Marafiki FC in regular time.
