30 teachers have on Friday, July 19, 2024, received their CAF D certification after completing a 10 day course at Moi Stadium, Embu County. The closing ceremony was presided over by FKF NEC Member Anthony Makau and FKF NEC Women Representative Margaret Omondi.

This course is part of the Women’s Football Campaign Program, a global initiative aimed at increasing female participation in football. It focuses on fostering the development of women and girls in football from an early age, creating a structured pathway that nurtures young players and provides them with the necessary support and guidance to excel in the sport, potentially pursuing national team and professional opportunities in the future.

They were trained by FKF Coach Educators Musa Otieno and Jackline Juma.

The course was organized ahead of the official roll-out of the FIFA Women’s Football Campaign in Embu County on July 20, 2024. Embu will be the third county to implement the program, which primarily targets players and school team coaches from primary schools.

Recognizing that students spend a significant amount of their time in school, the program places special emphasis on capacity building among school team coaches to ensure players receive proper football education from an early stage, enabling their growth into potential future professionals.

The event will bring together players and coaches from across Embu for a one-day tournament, aiming to create a fun and engaging environment. It will provide players with the opportunity to participate in various small-sided games and other enjoyable activities.

Following this, the program will be rolled out in Samburu on Saturday, July 27, 2024, and then in Busia on Saturday, August 10, 2024.
