Kenya has been placed in Group A of the Total Energies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) U-20 CECAFA Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from October 6-20, 2024.
The draw occurred today, Thursday, September 12, 2024, in Dar es Salaam.
Kenya has been grouped with hosts Tanzania, Rwanda, Sudan, and Djibouti. Defending CECAFA champions Uganda will compete in Group B alongside last edition’s finalists South Sudan, Burundi, and Ethiopia.
Kenya will kick off their campaign against Tanzania at the KMC Stadium on Sunday, October 6, 2024, followed by a match against Rwanda at the same venue on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Their third match will be against Djibouti at KMC stadium on Sunday, October 13, 2024 before wrapping up the group phase against Sudan at Azam Complex on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.
The top two teams from each group will automatically advance to the semi-finals, and the two finalists will earn the right to represent the CECAFA region at the AFCON U-20 tournament next year.
