The Harambee Stars will face South Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2024 Total Energies African Nations Championship (CHAN). The draw for the qualifiers, conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, has set the stage for an exciting series of matchups across the CECAFA region.

In the initial round of the knock outs, Kenya will battle South Sudan, with the winner advancing to the final phase, where they will face the winner between Djibouti and Rwanda. The first leg of matches are set to take place between October 25-27, 2024, with the return leg scheduled for November 1-3, 2024.

The final phase is set to be held between December 20-29, 2024.

The 2024 CHAN tournament will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from February 1-28, 2025, marking the first time in CAF history that a tournament is jointly hosted by three nations. As hosts, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania have already secured automatic qualification, subject to this CECAFA will have one additional representative at the tournament while other zones have 3 representatives each.
