Junior Stars Assistant Coach Anthony Akhulia has emphasized that their next group match against Uganda is a must-win as they look to keep their U17 Africa Cup of Nations-CECAFA Qualifiers campaign alive.

This statement follows their narrow 1-0 loss to Tanzania in the opening match, played on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Nakivubo Hamz Stadium in Uganda.

“The boys can play. We picked up momentum in the second half, and we want to build on that as we head into the second match against Uganda,” said Akhulia. It’s a must-win match if we want to progress, and the team is clear on that.”

The Junior Stars will now face Uganda in their final Group A showdown on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Nakivubo Hamz Stadium. The result of this high-stakes match will determine whether the team advances to the semi-finals and stays in contention for a spot in the U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
