Coach Mildred Cheche has named the Junior Starlets’ traveling squad for their FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup second-round qualifier against Uganda. The first leg is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Nakivubo Stadium, kicking off at 4:00 PM EAT.

The squad features a mix of fresh talents and some familiar faces from the previous qualification campaign, including Halima Imbachi, Mitshel Waithera, Lorine Ilavonga, Jenevive Mithel, Elizabeth Ochaka, Joy Angela Valencia, Joan Ogola, and Lindy Weey. Halima Imbachi will captain the side.

Fresh from their historic World Cup debut in the Dominican Republic, the team is eager to build on that experience and secure an early advantage in the two-legged tie. Coach Cheche expressed confidence in her squad, emphasizing their determination to qualify for back-to-back World Cups.

“The girls are feeling motivated and are ready for the match. We’ve prepared well, we are in high spirits, and the team is ready,” said Coach Cheche.

The team is set to depart for Uganda on March 6, with the return leg scheduled for Sunday, March 16, 2025 in Nairobi. Kickoff for the home fixture is set for 3:00 PM EAT. The winner on aggregate will advance to the third round of the qualification journey.
