The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) hosted a two-day FIFA Governance Workshop on June 10 and 11, 2025 at Weston Hotel.

The workshop brought together FKF National Executive Committee (NEC) members and key Secretariat staff for high-level discussions on strengthening governance and financial management structures within the federation.

It was facilitated by FIFA Member Associations Development Manager Abigail Lemma Hailemichael and Finance Services Manager Meryem Atouk. Their leadership guided participants through a comprehensive program aimed at enhancing professionalism and operational transparency across all levels of the federation.

Over the course of the workshop, participants engaged in intensive discussions that addressed key aspects of governance, financial oversight, and administrative efficiency — aligning FKF operations with FIFA’s global standards.

In his remarks during the closing session, FKF president Hussein Mohammed emphasized the importance of continued learning and institutional growth within the federation.
“Over two days, we deliberated on how to better govern our game with transparency, professionalism, and integrity. I thank FIFA’s Abigail Lemma Hailemichael and Meryem Atouk for their support and direction. This is part of our ongoing effort to build a football ecosystem Kenyans can trust and believe in,” he said.

The FIFA Governance Workshop forms part of FKF’s ongoing efforts to institutionalize reforms that foster good governance, strengthen internal structures, and support the sustainable growth of football in the country.
