Football Kenya Federation and SportPesa have today, Thursday, July 31, 2025, announced a landmark 10 year sponsorship agreement worth Kshs. 1.12 billion for the FKF Premier League. The partnership will kick off with the 2025/26 season.

Under the agreement, 60% of the sponsorship amount will be disbursed directly to FKF Premier League clubs as grants. The remaining 40% will support the administrative and operational needs of the competition, ensuring its smooth running and long-term sustainability.

Speaking during the announcement, FKF President Hussein Mohammed described the partnership as a major step forward for Kenyan football.

“This marks a transformative chapter for the FKF Premier League. After a long period without consistent private sector support, today’s agreement with SportPesa signals a turning point,” said President Hussein. “We thank SportPesa for believing in our vision and joining us on this journey. We look forward to delivering on the trust they’ve placed in us.”

The FKF President also noted that the Federation remains focused on attracting more partners to help grow the local game across all levels.

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri, on his part, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the growth of football in the country.

“We are excited to return to Kenyan football and partner with FKF once again. We believe football in Kenya has great potential and, through this partnership, we want to be part of the journey to restore the game to its rightful place,” he said. “We are confident that with collaboration and shared effort, we will rebuild and strengthen our league, our clubs, and our talent.”

The long-term sponsorship is expected to strengthen the commercial value and competitiveness of the FKF Premier League and bring positive impact to players, clubs, and fans across the country.
