The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Leagues & Competitions Committee has issued a ruling on the rescheduled FKF Division One match between Nakuru Bucks and Gucha Stars which was scheduled to take place on Friday, September 26, 2025, at Ulinzi Sports Complex.
The match kick-off would however be delayed for over an hour following a dispute by Gucha Stars FC over the eligibility of several Nakuru Bucks FC players. Gucha Stars FC lodged a protest before kick-off and submitted the same to the Match Commissioner.
In the 86th minute of the match, after Gucha Stars FC had doubled their lead in the match, the game was stopped after the assistant referee was accosted by a section of fans in the venue. With the assistant referee unable to proceed with the match, the game was abandoned and as such, the matter was referred to the Leagues & Competitions Committee for determination.
Committee’s Decision
- THAT the protest lodged by Gucha Stars FC over the eligibility of Nakuru Bucks FC players lacks merit and is hereby dismissed.
- THAT the results of the match at the time of the abandonment shall be upheld i.e. Nakuru Bucks FC [0] – Gucha Stars FC [2]
Parties may request a detailed decision of this matter to be issued within 21 days upon such a request.
