Acakoro Ladies and Beijing Raiders will on Sunday, February 23, 2020, fight for the regional glory in the finale of the ongoing Chapa Dimba Na Safaricom Nairobi regional finals.

Beijing Raiders qualified for the finals after beating Kibagare girls from Westlands 3-0. Beijing’s Martha Mutheu opened the score sheet when she scored at the 27th minute with her counterpart Maximila Robi netting at the 68th and 80th minute to seal the win.

Catherine Omondi bagged a brace at the 2nd and 63rd minute to give Acakoro Ladies the lead against St. Anne’s Eaglets. It was not long before Florence Achieng’ and Sylvia Makungu extended the lead at the 14th and 17th minute respectively followed by a goal from Diana Hashina at the 29th  minute. Shantel Muthoni scored a consolation goal for Kibagare girls at the 45th minute to end the game 5-1 .

“I knew the game was going to be tough because it was a semi-final. We were up for the challenge and I am happy that we emerged the winners. I am confident we shall emerge victorious tomorrow and look forward to represent the region at the National finals, said Beijing Raiders coach, Mark Okwiri.

Hakati Sportiff secured their spot at the finals after beating Brookshine Academy 3-0. Lewis Bandi scored the first goal at the 16th minute with Otieno Juma and Lewis Mutava scoring at the 59th and 76th minute. Dagoretti Mixed trounced Kenya School of Government 3-0 with goals from Jamin Mongoi, Felix Okoth and Victor Hagai in the 9th, 29th and 31st  minute respectively

“I am happy that I scored the opening goal to give my team the confidence to put up a good fight and win. Looking at tomorrow’s game, we shall listen to our coaches, keep up the team work and pray to God that He may deliver the win to us, “said Hakati Sportiff player, Lewis Bandi.

The winning teams in tomorrow’s finals will walk away with a cash prize of KES 200,000 each and an opportunity to represent Nairobi Region at the National Finals. The runners-up will receive KES 100,000 each with a host of individual prizes to be won.
