FKF Cup defending champions Bandari will grace the playoff round of the CAF Confederations Cup.

This comes despite Bandari losing 2-1 to Tunisian side US Ben Guerdane in the second leg of their first-round tie played on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

William Wadri delivered an 87th minute sucker punch at the Stade de Guerdane after Ricardo Alves Pereira had scored an early brace. The Dockers thus went through 3-2 on aggregate, having won the first leg 2-0 at the MISC Kasarani a fortnight ago.

Gor Mahia, in the meantime, will also get a lifeline in the playoff Round after losing 6-1 on aggregate to USM Alger in their CAF Champions League first-round tie.

K’ogallo needed three unanswered goals having lost the first leg 4-1 in Algeria. This was not to be as the Algerian side stumped authority with two more in the Sunday encounter played at the MISC Kasarani.

Both sides will, therefore, seek glory in the playoff Round, the final qualifying round, whose winner on aggregate proceeds to the tournament’s Group Stages.

The draw for the playoff round, where 8 CAF Confederations Cup first-round winners are set to face off with 8 CAF Champions League first-round losers, will be held on October 9, 2019. The first leg matches are set to be held on October 27, with the second legs lined up on November 3, 2019.
