The National U17 football team has today, Friday 20, 2018, sealed a semifinal slot in the ongoing CECAFA U17 Championships.

This is despite a 1-0 loss to Somalia in the final Group A match played at the Muyinga Stadium.

Kenya had earlier on edged out Burundi 4-0 in the opening match of the tourney before being held to a 0-0 draw by Ethiopia in the second match.

The loss means Kenya goes through to the semis as Group A runners-up with four points, similar to hosts Burundi, who, however, have an inferior goal difference.

The semifinals have been slated for Wednesday, April 25, 2018, with the final set to be played on April 29, 2018.
