Uganda went top of Group B with a 5-1 win over South Sudan in a match played on Friday, December 8, 2017, at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
A brace by Derrick Nsibambi, coupled with a goal apiece by Hood Kaweesa, Milton Kalisa and Nicholas Wadada saw Uganda dump South Sudan out of the tournament. Atak Luak scored a consolation, South Sudan’s first goal of the tournament.
Uganda consequently rises to the top of Group B with four points from two matches. Burundi is second with four points but with an inferior goal difference, while Ethiopia is third with three points.
South Sudan is out of contention, having lost their second match after their 3-0 loss to Ethiopia earlier on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
