The National football team Harambee Stars was held to a goalless draw by Zanzibar in their third match of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup played on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The home side dominated proceedings for the better part of the match, but it couldn’t count, with the hosts failing to find a way past a resolute Zanzibar defence.
Kenya is second in Group A with five points from three matches, two less than Zanzibar. The latter has accumulated seven points, enough to guarantee them a slot in the semifinals ahead of their final match against Libya on Monday, December 11, 2017.
Harambee Stars, meanwhile, will face off with Tanzania in their final must-win Group A match on Monday.
