NCEOD Queens from Suba sub-branch and Nyamaharaga from Kuria became the first teams to qualify for the Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Nyanza region finals set for February 2019 in Kisumu from games played at Setta Academy and KRA grounds in Isibania on Saturday 1 December, 2018.

From the Isebania playoffs, NCEOD Queens beat Migori Education Centre of Migori 4-2 in post-match penalties to qualify as Nyamaharaga stopped Homabay’s Kirindo FC 1-0 to book their ticket to Kisumu.

Nyanza South

At Ober Primary, Oyugis, reigning Nyanza region champions Ombek Red Devils defended their Rachuonyo sub branch title by seeing off a hard fighting Oyugis Academy 2-0 on Saturday.  SEP Ladies took home the girls title after a technicality knocked out their opponents Ombek Ladies from further participation.

On Sunday, 2011 Sakata Ball National finalists Kisii United were denied the Kisii Sub branch title after going down 1-0 to Victoria Strikers at the Nyatieko grounds. Earlier on Kisii SA Ladies had rested the girl’s title.

At Sere grounds, Springs Nyamira beat Matongo 1-0 to win the Nyamira sub branch boys title. They join the already qualified Nyabigege Girls as the area champions.

By last weekend Gucha sub branch had identified Christ Warriors and Omobera Girls as their champions

Next weekend all four sub branch boys’ and girls’ winners will converge at the Kiendenge grounds in Nyamira to contest one boys and girls ticket to the regional finals.

Nyanza North

Second round action took off at the weekend in Kisumu, Bondo, Siaya and Nyando sub branches across ten different venues.

Nyamonye FC topped three other teams at Migwena grounds to be declared the Bondo sub branch winners. They join the already qualified Nyamira Girls who saw off two other teams last weekend to lift the ladies sub branch title.

South East booked Kaudha in the final of the boys Siaya sub branch title next weekend after coming through games played at Siaya Prisons and Wagai Primary, respectively. The winner of that duel will join Yala Ladies in the final round of games.

In Kisumu, champions Manyatta emerged as winners in their Sunday game. They will be defending their sub branch title against Alango and Usoma Beach Boys beach boys next weekend. Manyatta Girls won the ladies title after seeing off Ayaro at Kisumu day.

In Nyando sub branch Muhoroni Young Stars/Nyong’onga will determine the boy’s winner to join Abwao in the final round of games.
