Harambee Stars Coach Sébastien Migné has exuded confidence in the Kenya National team, Harambee Stars, ahead of their Africa Nations Championships Qualifier against Tanzania.
Kenya picked up a 0-0 draw in the first leg played in Dar es Salaam, and there now is all to play for in the second leg, which determines who faces Sudan in the second and final Qualifying round.
“I am happy with the improvement I have noted in the team since we reported to camp last week. We are ready to give the best tomorrow,” said coach Sébastien Migné.
“We beat them at AFCON, which was more important, so they would like to revenge against us. My players showed great character away from home in the first leg which is an indication for a positive result in the second leg,” added the coach.
He also called on fans to fill the 60,000 seater MISC Kasarani in support of the team, which exclusively features players plying their trade in the local league.
“We need the fans. We have some young players with not as much experience and the fans behind us can make a big difference,” said coach Migné.
Captain Dennis Odhiambo, meanwhile, revealed the team’s focus on offense during training, as he promised a much-improved show from the first leg that ended goalless.
“We have been working on our offense all week. We were not as sharp in front of goal in the first leg but the coach has pushed us in training so I can promise a much more attacking style of play in the second leg on Sunday,” said Dennis.

The match has been slated for Sunday, August 4, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani starting at 4 pm.
Tickets will go on sale on match day at Kenya Cinema, Opposite Safari Park Hotel, Ngomongo Police Station and at the MISC Kasarani Stadium’s Gate 12 for KES 100 all-round access.
The winner on aggregate will face Sudan in the second and final qualifying round, while the final tournament, reserved for players actively featuring in their respective national competitions, has been scheduled for January 2020, in Cameroon.
Should the match end in a barren draw, it will head straight to penalties to determine who goes through to the next round.
