Curtains have come down on a series of coaching courses, which were the first action plan of the FIFA/FKF Pilot Project for women football development.
This as a referees training, which drew aspiring referees under the age of 25 from across the country, also culminated in Meru.
The coaching courses kicked off in Mombasa for grass root coaches and sports teachers from the Coast region. It would thereafter be activated in Nairobi before Kisumu successfully hosted the final phase, with participants from Nyanza, Western and parts of Rift Valley taking part.
“FIFA aims to increase participation of women in football,” said FKF Deputy President Doris Petra
“FKF has thus opted to invest in young women through coaching education, and we hope that they will in turn influence even more women at the grassroots,” she added.
A leadership course has also been lined up for elected women representatives early next year.
