The FIFA Pilot Project for women football development spreads its wings to Meru on Sunday, December 16, 2018, where a referees training has been lined up for participants drawn across the country.

This comes after the project successfully got underway in Mombasa with a week-long coaching course, which was later also activated in Nairobi this week.

The training targets women under 25 who have previously never been exposed to referee education.

Kisumu will also host a week-long coaching course, set to kick off on Monday, December 17, 2018, with a leadership workshop for Branch Women Representatives, also lined up.

This series of courses is the first action plan of a pilot project where FIFA aims to impact over 60 million women by 2026, thus increasing participation of women in football.

Kenya is set to benefit from close to KES 100 Million in funding from the World Governing Body for the project.

FKF will besides the trainings also initiate U13/U15 leagues through partnerships with Primary Schools.
