Football Kenya Federation, in conjunction with the Colombian Embassy in Kenya, has on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, commenced a two-day coaching workshop at the United Nations office in Gigiri.
The workshop, dubbed Sports building and experience exchange, was spearheaded by coach Christopher Moreno from the Colombian Football Federation, with an aim of networking and exchanging ideas among the coaches.
Colombian Ambassador to Kenya, Her Excellency Amb. Elizabeth Taylor graced the opening ceremony. She was happy that the partnership had come to fruition, further exuding confidence that it will positively impact the growth of Kenyan football.

“We are happy to partner with FKF. I am confident that this partnership will realize mutual growth,” said Amb. Taylor.
FKF Deputy CEO Herbert Mwachiro, on his part, expressed optimism that the partnership will go a long way in improving the levels of the game.
“This partnership is a great opportunity for us to collaborate with Colombia in improving our coaches’ technical skills, in line with our long-term football development agenda,” said Mr. Mwachiro.
The workshop was attended by women coaches as well as former Kenyan international players who have since made strides in coaching.

Julius Owino, who has donned the National team’s colors in the recent past, asserted his gratitude to FKF for giving a chance at coaching to former internationals.
“I am thankful to FKF for according us this opportunity. It is a chance for me to learn new skills as well as network with fellow coaches,” said the Leventis United coach.
The coaches will be taken through an outdoor session on day two, on Monday 23, 2018.
