Football Kenya Federation has extended the mid-season transfer window deadline by two days, with Monday, July 2, 2018, now set as the transfer deadline day.

The move has been necessitated by the fact that June 1, the opening day of the transfer window, was a public holiday and June 30, the initial closing day, falls on a weekend thus limiting clubs transaction on the local transfer market.

“This move has been brought about by the fact that the opening day of the transfer window, June 1, 2018, was a holiday and the scheduled closing day of the transfer window, June 30, 2018, will be on a weekend,” said FKF CEO Robert Muthomi.

“We, therefore, felt it in order to extend the deadline to allow clubs enough time to conclude their transfer businesses,” added the FKF CEO.

The extension, however, only applies to domestic transfers as the international transfer deadline remains as it was, on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at midnight.
