Kenyan Premier League sides AFC Leopards and Sofapaka have on Sunday, June 24, 2018, booked places in the round of 16 of the FKF SportPesa Shield.

Also through to the next round is Friendzone FC, Bungoma Super Stars, Kenya Police, Western Stima and Vihiga United.

Leopards brushed aside Naivasha based Rainforest 4-0, courtesy of a goal by Jafari Owiti in between a brace by Ezekiel Odera. Ray Omondi scored the fourth.

The match was played at the Karuturi Grounds, with an early kickoff pitting Vihiga United against Division one side Vegpro ending 4-0 in favor of Vihiga.

Sofapaka, on the other hand, were 3-0 winners over Baba Dogo United in a match played at Camp Toyoyo.

Stephen Waruru opened the scores in the 18th minute before Umaru Kasumba made it 2-0 six minutes later. Pistone Mutamba would mark his debut with a goal five minutes upon resumption from a well-taken free kick.

Earlier on, at the same venue, experienced Friendzone FC managed a 2-1 win over Zetech University. Simon Mungai and Peter Mwangi were on target, with Donald Owiti’s equalizer on the half-hour mark turning out to be a mere consolation.

In other results, Western Stima went past fellow NSL bigwigs Bidco United following a 4-2 win in post-match penalties. The tie had ended 0-0 in regulation time.

Bungoma Super Stars are also through at the expense of fellow Division One side Transfoc while NSL side Kenya Police gained easy passage after their would be opponents, Kenya Police, failed to turn up for the match that was scheduled for the Narok Stadium.
