Football Kenya Federation has set February 24, 2019, as the kickoff date of the top tier FKF Women Premier League 2019 season.

This follows successful completion of the 2018 league, which saw Vihiga Queens emerge champions while Thika Queens came second.

Mombasa Olympic and Baringo Starlets, meanwhile, were relegated to the second tier Women Division One League. Their place has since been taken up by Kibera Girls Soccer Academy and Nyuki Starlets, who came out top of the Division One League’s Zone A and Zone B respectively.

The 2019 league will, like in the 2018 season, be comprised of 16 teams, all of which will be entitled to Grants from the FIFA Forward Program.
