BetKing defending champions, Gor Mahia, lost 2-1 to Algerian side CR Belouizdad in the second leg of their CAF Champions League first-round tie, played at the Nyayo Stadium, on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.

The loss led to the team being locked out of the chance to proceed to the group stages of the continental showpiece. Gor had suffered a 6-0 defeat in the first leg played on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at the Stade du 5 Juillet 1962 in Algeria.

However, Gor Mahia still has a lifeline in the CAF Confederations Cup playoff round set to be played in February 2021.
