Harambee Starlets lost 1-0 to Uganda in the opening match of the 2018 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup, played on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at the Stade Regional de Nyamirambo in Kigali, Rwanda.

Lilian Mutuuzo scored the lone goal, capitalizing on a loose ball from close range after Starlets goalkeeper Poline Atieno failed to deal with a corner kick by the Crested Cranes.

Starlets will thus look to make amends in their second match of the tourney against defending champions Tanzania on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Also in line for Kenya are matches against hosts Rwanda and Ethiopia.
