    Harambee Stars got the 2017 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup underway on a high with a 2-0 win over Rwanda on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

    Stars went ahead courtesy of a 25th-minute goal from the spot by Masud Juma after Jockins Atudo was brought down in the box.

    Duncan Otieno then doubled Kenya’s advantage in the 35th minute from long range to see Kenya take a 2-0 lead at halftime.

    In the second half, Kenya held on to the lead to hand Coach Paul Put a win in his first match in charge of Harambee Stars.

    The win sees Harambee Stars go top of Group A with three points and two goals. The hosts will play Libya in the second match of the regional showpiece on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, in Machakos.
