Gor Mahia coach Hassan Oktay has called out on fans to turn up in large numbers and rally behind the team as they take on Egyptian side Zamalek in a CAF Confederations Cup Group D match.

This as he also revealed that the team is upbeat and will give their all to try to pick up a positive result.

“We didn’t have a proper pre-season, plus we have had a tight schedule. We are however gaining momentum and I’m confident that we can pull a positive result on Sunday,” said coach Oktay.

“Other clubs are taking this competition very seriously. I am thus calling on all Kenyans to come help us make use of our home advantage,” he added.

His Zamalek counterpart Christian Gross, in the meantime, insisted that they will in no way underrate Gor Mahia, but will try play according to their game plan.

“We are giving them maximum respect as they are also a top side. All we’ll do is play according to our plan and try pick up a win,” he said.

The match has been slated for Sunday, February 3, 2019, at the MISC Kasarani starting 4 pm, with tickets set to retail at KES 500 VIP and KES 200 Regular.
