A late goal rush saw guest nation, Kenya’s Harambee Starlets, open their COSAFA Women Championships on a high with a 5-2 win over Mozambique in a match played today, September 14, 2017, at the Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe

Harambee Starlets twice came from behind, first through Neddy Atieno, who canceled out Lucia Mocambique’s ninth minute opener for a 1-1 halftime score. Lucia would then give Mozambique the lead, but it was Neddy again who restored parity, her second goal of the tournament

The match seemed to be headed for a draw before Mwanahalima Adam thumped in a low hard drive in the 85th minute. Neddy Atieno then grabbed her hat-trick two minutes later before substitute Phoebe Aketch added icing on the cake with a fifth goal from a free kick

The win sees Harambee Starlets shoot to top of Group B ahead of their second match against Mauritius on Saturday, September 16, 2017
